Annuities

You should be aware that annuity rates are currently much lower than in recent years and the size of fund that would have given you an income of £10,000 per year10 years ago will now more likely produce as little as £3,000 per year.

Your pension fund is also likely to be considerably lower than it was in 2007 when investment markets were at their highest.

Annuity rates are unlikely to increase significantly in the near future as they are mainly driven by interest rates which look set to remain low for some time. Your pension fund value may increase over time but you should consider if that is practical for you.

There are other ways besides lifetime annuities as a means to taking your pension benefits. These can be temporary and under your control or set for a short number of years with a second chance at securing your lifetime income when perhaps market conditions are more favourable.

We are more than happy to discuss all of your options BUT if you decide the secure lifetime income from an annuity is for you then you should take up the
