Final Salary/DB Pension Transfer Advice

Final Salary/DB Pension Transfer Advice

Transferring out of a Final Salary scheme is unlikely to be in the best interests of most people.

The value of pensions and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.

Transferring Out of a Final Salary/Defined Benefit Pension

The process explained and how we work with you.

As specialists in retirement planning with a proven history of providing sound financial planning advice, we’re well placed to advise on Final Salary/Defined Benefit pension transfers.

The benefits offered by a Final Salary scheme mean that transferring money out is a decision that can only be made after careful consideration of your financial circumstances, retirement plans and what your future may look like if you decide to transfer compared to taking benefits from your scheme.

Should You Transfer Your Final Salary Pension?

Our advice process takes a comprehensive look at your circumstances and one of our specialist financial advisers will discuss with you your future plans and current financial position with a view to providing an appropriate recommendation.

The outcome of our advice process will either be a recommendation to transfer or to keep your current benefits.

    The Pensionlite Advice Process

Whilst obtaining financial advice can seem daunting at first, we aim to simplify and streamline your experience with us and take away any unnecessary hassle. Our financial advisers and support teams have years of experience that allows us to provide a service that is comprehensive without being cumbersome.

     Step 1: Information Gathering

We’ll invite you to an initial consultation over the telephone in which we ensure you understand the advice process and gives us the chance to gather the information we need from you. This allows us to build a picture of your financial circumstances.

At this point, we arrange to send the relevant documents to you that allow us to provide you with financial advice. Once you receive, sign and return these, we will be able to begin the advice process.

We will also let you know which documents we need from you.

Step 2: Consultation with an Experienced, Specialist Financial Adviser

We’ll arrange a convenient time for you to speak directly to one of our experienced advisers who will have been provided with the information from your initial consultation.

At this point, we’ll be able to discuss the finer points of your intention to transfer your Final Salary scheme so that we can be confident we’re providing advice that is the right fit for you.

We also explain what we will do next and if there is any further information we require from you at this stage.

Step 3: Report Created & Decision Reached

Your adviser will create a detailed report explaining why we believe a recommendation to transfer is appropriate for your circumstances or if it is in your best interests to retain your existing scheme benefits.

You will of course be able to discuss this report with your adviser.
